I agree the calculations for the stats would be useful, what’s also annoying is that they only show percentages, if the total number are increasing over the same time period (what are the x axis units?) are increasing then the cameras that appear to be falling will actually just be losing market share of an ever increasing market, i.e. sales are still climbing.

  2. Great Comments John! It would be useful to know what time span the x-axis covers. But there is a good reason for using percentages on the y-axis. If you use raw numbers, growth in the Flickr customer base would show up as “market growth” for a camera. You need to keep things in ratio so new users don’t skew the results. That’s one of the many different down points of doing such a survey in a closed community like Flickr…
