San Francisco POPOS

I was doing some cleaning up of my desktop today (amazing how files seem to propagate on the desktop like dusty bunnies) when I ran across a website I had tagged for later and thought others might find it interesting. COMMONspace is a list of San Francisco’s privately-owned public open spaces (POPOS). These are privately owned space within the city that has been designated for public use. I have discovered a few of these on my own while wondering around downtown. They make for alternative views of the city or just a place to hang out that might be quieter than one would expect.

If anyone knows of such spaces in their own urban environments, post a comment and share!

  1. Great site. I’ve bookmarked it. I’ll have to seek out these locations just to check them out. Thanks for passing this on.
