Seawall and Seal Rocks

Seawall and Seal Rocks

Above was one of the photos from last weekend’s worldwide photowalk at Sutro Baths in San Francisco.  The photo below is another variation from the same location at Sutro Baths from about two years ago.  Funniest part is that the same photographers were with me for the making of both photographs.

This goes to show the value in frequenting the same location to really experience the multiple facets it can deliver.  In this case in terms of lighting and mood using similar framing.  What do you have near you that you frequently visit?

Both photos are part of my San Francisco gallery in the Archive where they can be licensed or purchased as art prints.

  1. Great shots! Is this the shot you were doing with the vari-ND filter? I remember you pulling one out of your bag.

@Richard Wong, Yes, the top one was shot with the vari-ND. Set to probably 70% to achieve a softening of the water. The lower one was the one I took about 2 years ago when you, Jim, and I were out there. No vari-ND filter, long exposure but not as long as possible with the filter to really soften the water.

And Yes, both were post processed for mood… 😉
