Shooting Pinnacles Next Weekend

(Rock Face Near Bear Gulch Reservoir by Greg A. Lato)

This coming Saturday, the 26th, I’ll be heading down to Pinnacles National Monument, for a day of hiking and shooting. Pinnacles is located south of Gilroy and Hollister on Highway 25, about 80 miles south of San Jose. If anyone from the area is interested in joining me, the South Bay Photography Meetup Group has created an event for this Photo Shoot.

I was down at Pinnacles about a year ago with this group and captured the images above and below. Pinnacles has a wonderful varying terrain with lots of landscape and some wildlife subjects, including some California Condors if your lucky. There are numerous trails to hike on, but with some significant elevation changes. But a hike worth the effort.

  1. Thanks Mark. It was one of the days where you get up early and the day looks grey and drab, but you go anyway…only to be greeted by gorgeous skies a few hours into your hike.
