Greg A. Lato (aka, latoga) is a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He was born and raised in Central Wisconsin and studied Computer Science and Writing at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Greg’s career in technology has allowed him to travel extensively around the country and various parts of world. He has lived in Wisconsin, the Washington DC area, and the San Francisco bay area.
Early in grade school his interest in photography was sparked by the gift of a used 35mm camera from his Brother-in-Law. Photography has been an occasional companion to him over the years, the creativity of which helped to balance out the analytical and political nature of his technology career. In the late 1990s, as photography evolved into the digital age, photography started to solidify as a regular part of his life. He now has a camera with him at most times to capture the images of daily life and his travels.
Greg is largely a self-taught photographer whose photographic interests touch on most areas of photography but remain constantly focused on cityscapes, landscapes, and nature. His work has been licensed for use in various publications and printed for numerous private collectors. Greg’s photography and writings on photography can be found at www.latogaphoto.com.
Greg’s wife, Jennifer, is a floral designer. Their family currently lives in San Ramon, California and consists of their son Matthew, Jennifer’s parents, Napoleon (their pug), and Sydney (their cat).
