Since these Gray Jays were constantly flying back and forth collecting food, I was able to photograph two of them on the same pine branch while one of them was starting to take flight. Click through on the photo to view a larger version, see the rest of the portfolio, and to purchase prints.

Here it is almost June and I am processing photos from the last winter snow storm of the season to hit Yosemite, from back in March!  Better turn around time than other images that still languish in the dark rescesses of my hard drives. Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell at the time of taking this photo what bird this was. So I’m not sure if it was an Egret or Heron. Not that it makes a difference for the photo, under these conditions both birds are from the same family and have similar silhouettes.
