Photo: Walking The Wall

I realized that I don’t do a lot of black and white images. Mostly because I feel the photos don’t have the required tonal qualities for black and white. When I saw this image unfold at the Sutro Baths, near Seal Rock and the Cliff House in San Francisco, I knew it had to be black and white. It was the tonal qualities of the low light on the rocks that spoke to me.

I tried to frame the image so that it the lines of the wall lead you along the golden triangles toward the couple. I really enjoy the way the curved wall and straight wall work together.
