Tilden Regional Park, in the hills above Berkeley, features a functioning carousel that gets all decked out for the holidays.  Went for a short visit with the family last weekend and caught this classic moment…somethings are timeless, like the joy of watching a carousel.

For the record, the little guy is my son. And I have no idea who the big guy is–it’s not me, I’m not good enough to be on both sides of the camera at the same time!  Not sure which was scarier (as a parent): how fearless MG was walking through such a crowded place or how the gentleman standing next to him hardly even noticed he was there…

MG is one of the biggest reasons things have been so quiet here on the blog.  Where has the last 16 months gone?  Most of my photo time this year has been with him and been enjoying every minute of it.
