This image has become my favorite image from my recent trip to Yosemite. This is a perfect example of why photographers need to get out when the weather is bad. It was windy, cold (one photographer I meet had a portable stove with and was making coffee to keep warm), snowing now and again, and the light was changing by the minute. It was amazing!
Since I have had a number of requests already: Yes, art prints of this image are available. Just click through on the photo and use the buy button. I’m working on making a limited number of fine art prints available as well…working through some web site issues to enable that, so stay tuned.
I know this spot has been photographed millions of times, but i never get tired of this view. You caught this at a great time.

This is a good one ! I’ve always been touched by the winter landscapes, for some reasons, everything that is cold appears more authentic to me, more “raw”, more wild…
Keep up the good work and congrat for this picture !

I appreciate all the kind words on this photo. While I know this scene has been photographed often, you don’t often see images of it with such mood as this. This photo has become my current favorite and earned the spot of desktop background on my computer. When the work gets long and endless, I stare at my desktop and escape back to Yosemite…then I remember how many more photos from that trip I have yet to process. 🙂
