After finally catching up with some other projects around the house, getting back to the photos from my trip earlier this month to Anza-Borrego Desert Sate Park. The focus of that trip was to attend a photo tour with Ron Niebrugge and learn more about the area from his years of experience having photographed around Anza-Borrego.
The above photo was part most of the group on the afternoon of the first day. Storm fronts were moving through one after another and just kept missing us as we hiked through a section of the desert in search of wildflowers. At one point this great rainbow appeared making us all wonder what photographic pot of gold we were missing around that hill.
Later in the day, we raced ahead of a larger storm front to photograph at Clark Dry Lake. It was a mad dash to try and capture as many images ahead of the storm front as possible. Eventually the storm won and the desert received a solid hour or more of heavy rain.
