If you’re ever in the Bay Area (Oakland / Berkeley area specifically) one of my recommended places to visit is the Tilden Botanical Gardens. Just allocate yourself at least 2 hours and bring good walking shoes. The gardens are built into a ravine and are devoted to the collection, growth, display, and preservation of the native plants of California. In your two hour stroll you’ll see plants from all across the great state of California. And if you’re a macro photographer, well plan for a longer stay. And plan on visiting multiple times over the year as the garden is constantly changing with the seasons. I’ve frequented the garden over the years to dabble in nature macros. Visiting during one of our next rain storms would be an interest twist for me personally.
